Survivor host Jeff Probst said he isn’t looking to cast any outright villains on any future season of the show.
While the history of the game is filled with treacherous castaways willing to do whatever it takes to get to the end, Probst said the times we’re in don’t match the ones we were in when Survivor started.

To Probst, the game is chasing joy in a world filled with less harmony, and the casting will reflect that pursuit.
“We’re not looking for [expletives] to play Survivor,” Probst said at a recent live event surrounding the season 50 finale in a NSFW quote.
Probst did point out that people still get labeled as Survivor villains on their seasons by the public, but the game isn’t outright searching for those types of contestants.

While some fans may long for the days of more villains on Survivor, Probst is the one calling the shots.
