Warning: Major Spoilers Ahead!

While 24 of the most iconic castaways from the Survivor franchise make their grand return for the show’s upcoming season, viewers will be shocked some of the biggest names were harshly cut at the very beginning.

Survivor 48 winner, Kyle Fraser, met an unfortunate end to the season when he suffered a medical emergency at the very beginning of filming.

The attempt to win back-to-back seasons shattered when Kyle, 32, was medevaced out of the game after sustaining an injury on set, a production insider told The U.S. Sun.

“Everyone… Jeff, producers and contestants were completely shocked and shattered by the early exit.

“There is a day one medevac from a newer contestant – it will shock fans,” the insider said.

“Kyle, who won last season, had his journey cut short,” they confirmed.

While the nature of the medical emergency is being kept tightly under wraps, those on location described the moment as emotional and chaotic, with castaways and crew visibly shaken.

Returning favorite, Mike White, also suffered a brutal fate when he was blindsided by one of the early votes and had his torch snuffed much sooner than others anticipated.

“Another shocking move producers didn’t see coming? Mike is one of the first contestants to get the boot,” the source said.

“He’s an early elimination and neither he nor the producers or Jeff thought he was going to be voted out that early.

“He thought his social game would take him far and he’d be brought to the end because he’s rich and wouldn’t get the votes for a million dollars at the end if he made it to final three. That’s basically what happened last time.

“But he was immediately a huge target and he got blindsided. The women ran the game and he couldn’t get in with that alliance and he got got.”

Insiders claimed Mike underestimated just how aggressive the cast would be from the jump – especially with several strong female players seizing control early.

His torch snuffing came far sooner than anyone expected and even host Jeff Probst was left stunned by how quickly the landmark season spiraled.

The move to not bring Mike, 55, to the end is also surprising given the monumental success he’s achieved since appearing on Survivor 37.

About two years after he was cast as a Goliath on the show’s David vs Goliath season, Mike shot to Hollywood stardom by creating The White Lotus.

FULL-TILT WAR

According to the insider, Survivor 50 quickly turned into an all-out battle.

“Every player was so emotional and passionate about being there. The competition physically and socially was brutal. Everyone was fighting full tilt.”
