Jamal is surprised to learn he has other siblings he didn’t know about until now. Kim gets emotional, but lets Jamal process the information. In the confessional, she breaks down, talking about that part of her life when she got pregnant at 21 years old.

She also admits to having another child, a daughter, a year later, whom she has also put up for adoption. In the confessional, she becomes emotional when discussing the beautiful beings in the world and feels maternal love. But she also recalls knowing she won’t be able to provide or raise the children, as her relationship with Jamal’s dad was not the best. She also shares the feeling that the maternal love for the children, whom she knows she will give up for adoption, is the hardest thing a birth mother can do.
