In a PEOPLE exclusive sneak peek at the premiere of Doubling Down with the Derricos season 5, Karen and Deon give an update on how their brood of 14 children is doing.

“We are on the verge of a house full of teenage boys,” Karen shares as they are seen arm wrestling in the living room.

“Derrick is 13, soon to be 14 years old. Wow,” Deon adds. “Everything for him is looking good. Smelling good. The young ladies and sports.”

His son can hardly hold in excitement about the milestone, saying, “I’m finally a teenager.”

Karen notes that twins Dallas and Denver are nearly full-fledged teenagers.

“It feels good being 12. We get to ride on a lot of rollercoasters,” one twin shares and the other adds, “I’m a preteen. I’m gonna start acting like a preteen.”

The family update wouldn’t be complete with Karen sharing that the quintuplets Deonee, Daician, Daiten, Deniko, and Dariz are 10. She adds,  “But I promise you they think that they are 21 years old.”

As the girls start up a dance party with their father in the living room, he explains in a confessional, “I know at some point we’re going to have three teenage girls in this house at one time. The thought of it sends my Derrico OCD out the roof.”

This season Deon and Karen “are entering a new and challenging phase of parenthood with their eldest, Darian, prepping for college,” according to an official synopsis.

“At the same time, the house is teeming with teenage and pre-teen boy energy with thirteen-year-old Derrick, twelve-year-old twins Dallas and Denver, and ten-year-olds Deniko and Dariz,” the description continues. “Quint girls Deonee, Daician and Daiten are also getting older and while they may be ten, they’re going on twenty. Six-year-old ‘triplins’ Diez and Dior are now mischievous first graders, while four-year-old triplets Dawsyn, De’Aren and Dyver have blossomed into an extremely talkative and sassy trio.”

“The Derricos search for a new house has been a forever process and is putting a strain on Deon and Karen’s marriage,” the synopsis concludes. “Deon is sitting on a secret that could change everything, and GG faces a big decision regarding her chemotherapy treatments. When the Derricos take a trip to the mountains, disaster strikes as Karen faces a medical emergency, forcing the Derricos to remember what is most important. Through it all, The Derricos always face life together, doubling down on all the love and fun it takes to be a unique family.”
